Rules of Golf

The Rules of Golf are the formal playing rules jointly issued by the USGA and The R&A, governing how the game is played and how players address rules situations. They interact with equipment rules but do not make every individual club or ball conforming by name. Equipment coverage should distinguish the playing rules, the separate Equipment Rules and official lists of conforming models. The exact scope of rules of golf governing framework needs to be checked against the specific version or configuration under discussion.
