SuperStroke retires its Traxion line and brings out Zenergy, a grip series built with layered materials and new tech aimed at sharper putting.

SuperStroke's Zenergy grips broke cover at the Cadence Bank Houston Open, landing in the hands of PGA Tour players before the public even saw a press release. The company didn't just swap colors or tweak branding. Zenergy marks a full design overhaul, with a two-layer build: a soft, tacky outer shell for feel and a firmer rubber core for stability. That pairing targets both comfort and control, a mix that's tough to pull off in a single grip.

The Zenergy TLT Pistol 1.0 model, introduced after the initial Zenergy launch, was used by Austin Smotherman to secure his first PGA Tour victory at the 2026 Bank of Utah Championship, where he led the field in Strokes Gained: Total and birdies.

First Call Golf

SuperStroke loaded Zenergy with its own tech. Spyne Technology adds a raised ridge under the grip, nudging players toward repeatable hand placement. Multi-Zone Texturing changes the feel in key spots, dialing up feedback and comfort where it matters. The No-Taper Shaping sticks around, aiming to lower grip pressure and steady the stroke. Players can slot in the CounterCore weight system or tracking sensors through the Tech-Port, letting them tweak balance or pull data from every putt.

The company press release singles out the Zenergy TLT Pistol 1.0 for its offset core. The shaft sits at an angle, which pushes a positive shaft lean but keeps the hands neutral. That geometry is built for zero-torque and lie-angle-balanced putters, giving fitters more ways to dial in control for players who want exact specs.

Zenergy isn't a single-shape play. SuperStroke is rolling out ten models, from Zenergy Tour (Tour 1.0, Tour 2.0, Tour 3.0, Tour 5.0) and Zenergy Pistol (Pistol Tour, Pistol 1.0, Pistol 2.0) to Zenergy Flatso (Flatso 1.0, Flatso 2.0, Flatso 3.0), Zenergy SS2R Squared, Zenergy Claw, Zenergy XL Plus (Tour 2.0XL, Tour 3.0XL, Flatso 2.0XL), 17" Zenergy Flatso, Zenergy WristLock, Zenergy 1.0PT, and Zenergy Tour 1.0 two piece. The spread is a direct answer to the range of putting styles and grip shapes players demand.

For the Zenergy TLT Pistol 1.0, SuperStroke lists a width of 1.14 inches, length of 10.60 inches, weight at 88 grams, and a 0.58-inch core diameter. The public listing confirms three main features across the line: the SPYNE ridge for hand placement, Multi-Zone Texturing for feedback, and the No Taper profile for steady grip pressure.

Independent equipment reports confirm that Austin Smotherman used the SuperStroke Zenergy TLT Pistol 1.0 on his putter during his 2026 Bank of Utah Championship win, while his full-size clubs were fitted with Golf Pride MCC Align grips.

SuperStroke is also pushing new looks. Eight colorways and fresh graphics hit the shelves, including Orange-Blue-and-White, Purple-and-White, Grey-and-White, and White-and-Silver. Players can now order custom names, images, or logos printed right on the grip.

CEO Dean Dingman credits "Tour player feedback, tireless research, and subtle innovation" for the Zenergy launch, promising a grip that delivers "the ultimate confidence you can touch and feel." The line lands at retail in February 2023.

SuperStroke's overhaul of its flagship grip line swaps out surface-level tweaks for real design and tech changes. The company is betting that a wider model range and more customization will keep Zenergy in the hands of both pros and amateurs chasing better feel and steadier putting. The last public detail: Zenergy's retail rollout is locked for February 2023.
