FlightScope pushes a sweeping FS Golf app update, aiming for a cleaner interface and more flexible features to cut setup headaches for launch monitor owners.
Golfers who have fumbled through clunky launch monitor apps know the pain: slow starts, buried settings, and a maze of tabs. FlightScope is trying to break that cycle. The company's latest FS Golf app update strips out the friction, putting fast practice and clear data front and center for anyone using its personal launch monitors.
The FS Golf app update, released on October 6, 2026, is available for iOS, Android, and Windows PC, but requires both the app and device firmware to be updated for new features to work.
Outdoor visibility has always been a sore spot. The new Light Mode tackles that head-on, boosting screen clarity on bright days. Users can also tweak their virtual practice setup, picking camera angles, sky conditions-clear, overcast, golden hour, or night-and even the type of trees or hitting surface. These changes don't touch the launch monitor's accuracy, but they do make practice less of a chore and easier on the eyes.
The update introduces interactive targets for full swing and chipping practice, allowing users to set distance, size, and offset, as well as enable random target switching between shots. The Top View Overlay mode now displays shot trajectories from both the player's perspective and a top-down view, helping golfers visually assess shot deviation from the intended target.
Subscription models have worn thin for many golfers, but FlightScope's Mevo Gen2 takes a different tack. The $1,299 price tag covers a full suite of metrics-carry, roll, total distance, ball speed, club speed, Smash Factor, launch angle, spin, spin axis, apex height, flight time, landing angle, angle of attack, spin loft, shot type, shot dispersion, and four putting stats-with no recurring fees. Eight E6 Connect home simulator courses come bundled for good measure.
Those chasing deeper analytics can unlock the Pro Package for a one-time $699, adding club path, face-to-path, face-to-target, dynamic loft, swing planes, low point, and club acceleration profiles. Face Impact Location, which tracks lateral and vertical impact plus heat mapping, costs $350 or comes bundled with the Pro Package for $975. Extra E6 course packs are available, with the 12-course bundle (including Pebble and the Old Course) priced at $250. Only the largest course bundles require an annual subscription, running $300 to $600, but the main experience stays subscription-free.
FlightScope's update doesn't just slap on a new coat of paint. The company is targeting the real-world headaches that keep launch monitor owners from using their gear daily. A streamlined interface, better outdoor visibility, and a robust feature set-without forced subscriptions-signal a clear shift. For buyers, the app's usability and transparent costs now sit at the heart of the launch monitor decision.
An eGolf report confirms that Top View Overlay lets users see shot trajectories from both the player's angle and from above, making shot dispersion and alignment easier to judge visually.
In its official announcement, FlightScope states the update is free, though some features depend on device model and purchased package. The company notes that Smart Data Margins, available for X3, X3C, and Mevo Gen2 with Pro Package, uses AI to adapt target ranges to player skill and allows club-by-club customization.
