- Lithium-Ion Battery

MGI isn’t a huge name in golf. But in the electronic and remote controlled push cart sector, it is a leader. With four different models of carts, MGI’s Zip X5 is perhaps its best value cart. Not only is the Zip X5 packed full of features, but it also features some unique styling.
The full design of the Zip X5 uses an aluminum base with plastic coverings and accents. These accents cover the 230W Motor and Lithium-Ion Battery. This gives the Zip X5 a much cleaner look than that of almost every other electric golf push cart. One downside of this clean look is that the plastic can crack if hit by a golf ball.
Many other useful features are included on the Zip X5 and include an Advanced Electronic Readout that indicates speed control and battery level. Plus a Parking Brake makes sure that your cart doesn’t roll away on steep hills.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Folds Down Quickly
- Long-Lasting Battery

Cons

Overall, the MGI Zip X5 is a great option for those looking for a reliable and clean looking electric push cart.

Key Features
- Aluminum Alloy Frame
- Two 200W Motor
- Lead-Acid Battery
- 1-Year Warranty
The earlier reviewed Bat-Caddy X4R Sport is by far the best cart in the Bat-Caddy Lineup. But if you are looking for something that is a bit more affordable, then the middle of the road X3R is the cart for you! Made with the same Aluminum Alloy Frame, this cart has similar looks to the XR4 Sport.
Even the main propulsion system of Two 200W Motors is present in the X3R. But the largest change is that instead of a lithium-ion battery, the X3R has a sealed Lead-Acid battery which provides enough charge for about 27 holes of golf. The downside is that this type of battery is much heavier and bulkier.
An accessories pack that comes with the cart includes a scorecard holder, water bottle holder, and umbrella holder. Other accessories can be purchased for installation including a seat and GPS holder. Bat-Caddy includes a one year warranty on both parts and the included battery.
Pros
- Sturdy Construction
- Long-Lasting Battery
- Nice Accessories
Cons

At $800, the Bat-Caddy is a great middle of the road electric push cart as long as you are willing to put up with some extra weight.
7. Cart-Tek GRi 1350

- It has three modes (Remote, Trolley, and Free-Wheel) three carts in one for the ultimate value.
- Programable settings (Turning force, speed buttons, tracking): customize your caddie to your needs!

Key Features
- Steel Frame
- Two High Torque Motors
- Lithium-Ion Battery
- 1-Year Warranty
Lead-Acid battery powered push carts are usually lower cost, at the price of weight and fewer charges. On the flipside, Lithium-Ion power carts are significantly lighter, but cost much more. Cart-Trek finds the best compromise with the GRi 1350.
Featuring a minimalist design with a Steel Frame backbone, the GRi 1350 has a clean yet sturdy look. Just like the earlier covered GRi 1500, the 1350 has Two High Torque Motors that independently drive each rear wheel. These motors are powered by a Lithium-ion battery that has enough charge to last up to two full rounds of golf.
Cart-Tek does include some other nice touches including a programmable remote and accessories package. The included accessories include a scorecard holder, umbrella holder, and mesh drink holder. A 1-year warranty is also included.
Pros
- Minimalist Design
- Long-Lasting Battery
- Programmable Settings
Cons
- None
Lithium-Ion powered carts are expensive, but the Cart-Trek GRi 1350 falls within the perfect area for price and performance.

Get yourself the same key features as the X5 with the slightly smaller MGI Zip X3.
Key Features
- Advanced Electronic Readout
- 230W Motor
- Lithium-Ion Battery
- Downhill Speed Control
Maybe the greatest thing about MGI is that the difference between its best and lowest tier cart is mostly small features that don’t impact the cart’s performance. In the case of the Zip X3, it is a bit of a step down from the earlier reviewed Zip X5. But as far as construction goes, both have the same steel frame and plastic coverings.
Another similarity between the two carts is the use of the same 230W Motor and Lithium-Ion Battery. So in terms of traversability and charge, the X3 is exactly the same as the X5. One charge, which is only visual, is that the accent color on the X3 is red instead of the normal green.
Perhaps the largest feature missing from the Zip X3 is the Parking Brake. There still is the Downhill Speed Control, but without a parking brake, it might be hard to keep the cart from accidentally rolling away on large hills.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Folds Down Quickly
- Clean Looks
- Good Value
Cons
- None
Overall, the MGI Zip X3 is a great value for those looking for an electric walking golf cart.

Key Features
- Aluminum Alloy Frame
- Two 200W Motors
- Lead-Acid Battery
- Accessories Kit
Nova Caddy takes the “no frills” approach to its remote cart. Made with a simple yet effective design that uses an Aluminum Alloy Frame, this cart is meant to be both durable and functional. Plus, this simpler design results in a more approachable price for the average golfer.
Two 200W Motors handle all the power output needed to get the Nova Caddy Remote Cart over any tough golf course terrain. To keep this cart running is a rather large lead-Acid Battery. The battery itself weighs in at about 43lbs which is two times heavier than the actual cart.
Nova Caddy does make up for the heavy battery by including a long-range remote control as well as other upgrades like a scorecard and cup holder. Another drawback with this cart is the lack of a fourth stability wheel. This means that the cart could tip over if going up a steep hill.
Pros
- Folds Down Quickly
- Clean Looks
- Good Value
Cons
- Heavy
- No Stability Wheel
Despite its heaviness, the Nova Caddy Remote Cart is still a well made option that will work well on most golf courses.

Key Features
- Aluminum Frame
- 230W Motor
- Lithium-Ion Battery
- Advanced Digital Electronics
While we have discussed the other MGI Zip carts earlier – the X5 and X3 – the X1 is by far the simplest and cheapest. Just like the other carts in the Zip lineup, the X1 has the same base Aluminum Frame and plastic cover. In particular, this cart has a black base color with yellow accents.
Similar to the X3, the X1 has the same 230W Motor and Lithium-Ion Battery. These two features provide ample power for about a full round of golf. One downside with this is that compared to other Zip carts, the X1 has a fixed front wheel which doesn’t allow for as easy turning.
Advanced Digital Electronics display every setting including speed as well as battery level. This is the same system used in MGI’s other electric push carts. Even without some of the features present on the other Zip carts, the X1 is still a solid choice for first-time electric push cart users.
Pros
- Folds Down Quickly
- Clean Looks
- Good Value
Cons
- None
If you are on a severe budget, then the best choice is the MGI Zip X1.
Bottom Line
You’ve made it to the end of our review guide of the ten best remote control golf carts! We hope that this guide has helped you learn about all the different options available and which might be the best for you. But before you make you go and make a purchase, here are some considerations to keep in mind.
First, determine what weight you’re comfortable lifting. Because Lithium-Ion batteries are much lighter (5-7lbs) compared to Lead-Acid batteries (40+ lbs). Add these weights to the base weight of the push cart and some carts with Lead-Acid batteries can weigh as much as 70lbs! Another thing golfers need to think about is how much customizability they need when it comes to features. Most carts on this list have all the bells and whistles, but if you want fewer gadgets and more bang for your buck, then a less flashy cart is for you.
Overall, remote control golf carts really do make walking while golfing a breeze. So no matter which cart you choose, we are confident that it will make each round of golf stress free. Thanks for reading and we will see you in the next one!
