Best Golf Rain Gloves

Whether it’s a big tournament or you just want to finish out the last couple of holes of a great round, playing in the rain may not be avoidable. So if you can’t avoid the rain, make sure you are prepared to play in it. Rain gear like a waterproof jacket, umbrella, waterproof shoes, a towel or club covers may help keep you dry, but the most important thing to have in your bag is a pair of wet weather gloves.

Regular golf gloves will be of no use in the rain, whereas rain gloves are made to give an unbreakable grip in the wettest of conditions. Many designs will have a microfiber palm and finger pad that when wet, becomes tacky when in contact with a rubber grip. Other rain gloves also add in a textured urethane pattern to help increase grip.

Some gloves in this review are also considered “all weather” gloves that can be played in dry or wet conditions. So although they may not be strictly wet weather gloves, they will still do a very fine job of keeping your hands in contact with the club at all times.

Features

  • Multiple microfiber construction provides a no slip-grip in wet conditions
  • When wet, the grip tackiness increases. The wetter the gloves get, the better they grip
  • The moisture management mesh top allows the glove to ergonomically conform to the hand, while providing fast drying comfort
  • Synthetic palm offers long-lasting durability and comfort round after round
  • Velcro closure is optimized for better fit and comfort

Wilson Staff may not yet be one of the largest brands in golf, but that hasn’t stopped them from making excellent products such as the Wilson Staff Rain Gloves.

Key Features

  • Microfiber Construction
  • Moisture Management Upper

Wilson went with a microfiber suede material to create the entire palm of these gloves. Several different areas contain microfibers to create a more durable and targeted construction. With this type of microfiber, the more water that gets on it the better the tackiness.

A loose knit material makes up the upper part of the glove and creates a way for moisture to leave the glove while keeping outside water out. The only real negative of this glove is that it isn’t exactly the nicest looking glove.

✅ Pros

  • Very Tacky When Wet
  • Durable

🚫 Cons

  • Slim Near The Wrist

If you are in the market for a durable glove at an affordable price, look no further than Wilson Staff Rain Gloves!

Thanks to 3D mesh, these Rain Grip Gloves are very breathable and will dry very quickly. And at the price of a regular leather glove, you can’t go wrong. On the downside, these gloves do not feel like a leather glove and have a little bit of cloth padding at some spots on the palm.

Key Features

  • Suede Microfiber Palm
  • Targeted Pad Technology
  • Lycra Motion Web Zones

The first look at the Bionic Aqua Grip Gloves doesn’t look much different than any other glove, but upon closer inspection, it is easy to tell that there are several raised pads. These pads are known as Targeted Pad Technology and are used to help golfers make better contact. Add in the Suede Palm and you will have a rock-solid grip in any rainy conditions.

Features

  • Designed for maximum protection under stormy conditions
  • Poly impregnated palm for sure grip
  • Spandex enhanced for lasting comfort

An all texture glove, the Ray Cook Gloves are very comfortable and allow for easy gripping of a club in even the heaviest of rain.

Key Features

  • Poly Integrated Palm
  • Spandex Enhanced

Foregoing the suede, Ray Cook choose to use a variable dot pattern for their Poly Integrated Palm. This style of pattern gives a more textured feel and helps create more grip at specific areas of the hand. Very useful for golfers that want to have a more responsive feel while swinging the club.

Above average flexibility is made possible with a Spandex Enhanced upper that allows for an almost full range of hand movement. One large drawback is that the Ray Cook Gloves are very thin. Usually being thin isn’t a bad thing when it comes to these gloves, but this pair of gloves is almost too thin. Reduced durability could be an outcome.

✅ Pros

  • Okay Tackiness
  • Very Flexible
  • Low Price

🚫 Cons

  • A Little Too Thin

Despite the possibility of durability issues, at just under $10 the Ray Cook Gloves are a great choice for budget rain gloves.

Key Features

  • 3D Performance Mesh
  • Quick Drying

Just like the FootJoy versions, these women’s Gloves come with all the same features as the men’s version. The only difference is the sizing made more for the characteristics of a woman’s hand. This means that these gloves will be smaller and follow the regular women’s sizing.

Again, these Women’s Gloves can be used in both wet and dry conditions as long as the palm of the gloves are kept wet. This makes these gloves some of the best for hot and humid conditions. Five different sizes are available and range from extra small to extra large.

✅ Pros

  • Enhanced Grip
  • Can Be Used In Any Weather

  • HexaGrip silicone reinforced palm ensures a secure grip even when wet
  • Reinforced finger bands stabilize the fingers from twisting
  • DriTex wrist band is designed to wick away moisture

Texturing on the palm of golf rain gloves comes in all shapes and sizes. The HJ Weather Ready Gloves have a unique “Honeycomb” design across the entire palm section.

  • HexaGrip Silicone Palm
  • WeatherTex Nylon Mesh

The HJ Weather-Ready Gloves feature a HexaGrip Silicon Palm that gives great grip. A WeatherTex Nylon Mesh makes up the back of the glove and allows for excellent breathability.

The is one huge drawback with the Weather-Ready Gloves is the durability. One of the first things to go bad on the glove is the silicone grip, making it lose all grip in rainy conditions.

Key Features

  • Microfiber Urethane Mix Palm
  • Quick Drying

No longer will you need to throw out a rain glove just because the microfiber is beginning to fall off!

Other notable features include Quick Drying and the ability to be completely washable. Buyers should be aware that unlike most other rain gloves that come in a pair that includes left and right-hand glove, the DRYGrip Gloves come in a two-pack but only for one hand.

✅ Pros

🚫 Cons

Bottom Line

As you can see, most golf gloves for rainy conditions are very similar in design and material used. What makes them different is how the materials are used and what purpose the glove is meant to fulfill. Most of the gloves on this list are meant for conditions that have moderate to heavy rain. But there are some all-weather style gloves that can be used in both dry and wet weather.

Wet weather only gloves tend to have full suede palms or a combination of suede and urethane grips. All-weather gloves will normally have specific areas that have suede or they will just have a texture running across the entire palm. Another feature of all-weather gloves is the use of lycra on the back of the glove.

Regardless of what type of glove you get, it is very important that you have a rain glove in your bag. Because you never know when bad weather will show up, but sooner or later you will have to play some golf in the rain.

Hopefully, after reading our reviews you have found a glove that will help improve your game in rainy conditions. So now even the rain can’t hold you back from shooting your best round!
