Best Driver Under $100

Let’s be honest; golf drivers have become just too expensive. With most new drivers costing over $400 and cheaper mid-level options being around $200 it’s hard to justify upgrading your driver every year. Plus, if you’re golfing on a budget these expensive drivers just won’t do.

But there is hope for those looking to upgrade on the cheap. There are some low priced serviceable options available for under $100. So in today’s article, we will take a look at 12 different drivers to find which is the best for under $100.

As you would expect, there are not many big brand names on this list. But we have included some great budget drivers from a couple of smaller golf companies. Each driver will get its own mini-review that will examine the club’s key features and performance.

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • TIP Control Technology

Out of all the drivers that have made our list, Wilson might be the only recognizable brand for many golfers. And the Deep Red Maxx driver is the absolute cheapest Wilson driver you can get outside of all-in-one golf sets. Despite its low price, there are a couple of great features within it.

The first important feature is the Aerodynamic design that features a smooth crown and styled sole. Aerodynamics is helped even further by the inclusion of a lightweight Titanium Matrix Construction. This means that the Deep Red Maxx uses a titanium shell and other lightweight components to create the driver’s head.

Wilson also includes TIP Control Technology which looks to place the Center of Gravity Lower in the clubhead for higher launch angles and less sidespin. While TIP Control Technology is better than most other technologies found on budget drivers, it still isn’t as good as higher-end technologies like TaylorMade’s Twistface. Currently, the Deep Red Maxx Driver can only be found in a right-hand configuration with a graphite regular flex shaft.

Pros

  • Good Distance
  • Solid Control
  • Clean Looks
  • Good Value

Cons

  • None

Overall, the Wilson Deep Red Maxx driver is perhaps the best driver you can get for under $100.

  • Premium Graphite Shaft

Lady golfers already have limited choices when it comes to golf clubs. Thankfully PowerBilt has created a serviceable driver, the TPS Blackout, to help get women into the game at a lower cost. From a construction and performance standpoint, this club is actually quite good.

The TPS Blackout goes for a simple Aerodynamic Design that highlights the club’s lightweight and well-performing clubface. Unlike many other all-metal drivers, the TPS Blackout uses a Multimaterial Clubhead to reduce weight and increase overall distance. This club will definitely beat out any driver that is included in a women’s all-in-one golf set.

PowerBilt does include a well made Premium Graphite Shaft with the TPS Blackout driver. Since this driver is a women’s driver the shaft by nature has a lighter women’s flex. Also, the TPS Blackout has a clean grey/white/mint color scheme.

Pros

  • Good Distance
  • Durable
  • Good Value

Cons

  • None

The PowerBilt TPS Blackout Women’s driver is by far the best budget women’s driver on our list.

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • Oversized Clubheads
  • 3 Club Set

For those unfamiliar with Ram Golf, it’s a slightly older golf company that has been focused on creating affordable golf products for your everyday golfer. In the case of the EZ3 Set, Ram has created a singular set that at just $80 covers all your driver and fairway wood needs. This set really is an outstanding value.

Design-wise, the EZ3 Set follows a simple and consistent Aerodynamic Design. This includes a smooth crown with an elongated clubhead. On the fairway woods, there is a bit more sole architecture to help create a more consistent turf interaction.

To increase distance and improve launch angles, Ram uses oversized clubheads on each club in the EZ3 set. In the case of a driver, this means a 460cc driver head. Both fairway woods have a larger head for easier launch. This makes the set of clubs very easy to hit from the tee and fairway.

Pros

  • Easy To Hit
  • Durable
  • Great Value

Cons

  • None

Fill out the rest of your bag at a reasonable price with the Ram Golf EZ3 Set.

Features

  • PowerBilt
  • TPS SuperTech
  • Right-Handed
  • Regular

PowerBilt makes our list again, this time with its men’s TPS Supertech driver!

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • Alloy Construction
  • Large Face Area

From a design standpoint, not all that much is different between the TPS Blackout and TPS Supertech. Perhaps the only noticeable difference is that the mean’s TPS Supertech has a bit more advanced styling on the sole of the club. Overall though, it still maintains an Aerodynamic Design found on the TPS Blackout.

A Large Face Area promotes confidence and solid contact for those that get intimidated while on the tee box. Combine this larger face with an all Alloy Construction and golfers will experience great distance and forgiveness. Feel is still a bit lacking but serviceable for a driver at this low of a price.

Currently, golfers can find the PowerBilt TPS Supertech in only a couple of configurations. The most common configuration consists of a 10.5-degree loft clubhead attached to a regular flex graphite shaft. These options can vary depending on where you look to purchase the TPS Supertech.

Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Nice Shaft
  • Good Value

Cons

  • None

Boasting style and performance, the PowerBilt TPS Supertech driver is worthy of any budget golfers bag.

6. Ram Golf FX +1

Ram Golf FX +1"

as of June 17, 2021 12:30 am

Features

  • 460cc driver with enlarged sweetspot offers maximum forgiveness
  • Pure titanium construction with explosive face for thundering distance
  • Aerodynamic Tech helps reduce drag for higher clubhead speed
  • Forward center of gravity for lower spin for penetrating distance
  • Custom FX sole design reduces turf drag and twist for longer straighter shots

Tall golfers rejoice! Ram Golf has a driver made just for you at a price that won’t break the bank!

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Tech
  • Titanium Construction
  • Enlarged Sweet Spot

Ok, for full disclosure this driver is technically under $100 by just $0.01 at the time of publication. So of course this allows us to feature this driver in our review guide. And in all actuality, this is a great club for tall golfers who need a driver with an extra inch of length.

RAM creates the FX +1 with Aerodynamic Tech that looks to increase forgiveness and swing speeds. Distance is influenced by an all Titanium Construction with a forward center of gravity. This produces a more penetrating ball flight that has a good amount of rollout after landing.

Unlike other Ram drivers, the FX +1 has a much larger Enlarged Sweet Spot. This helps with forgiveness on shots that end up outside of the center of the clubface. Perhaps the biggest drawback of this driver is that it is only useful to a small segment of the golfing community. Those who are at or under six feet tall will not need a lengthened driver like the FX +1.

Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Nice Feel
  • Perfect For Taller Golfers

Cons

  • Not Suitable For Average/Short Height Golfers
  • Right At $100

Thanks to a combination of the right features and price, the Ram FX +1 is the best lengthed driver on the market for under $100.

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • Titanium Alloy Construction
  • Enlarged Sweet Spot

Pinemeadow has seen a great rise in popularity in recent years thanks to its low-cost clubs and shining reviews on Amazon.com. When it comes to drivers, Pinemeadow’s Command W7X shines above the rest. Made with an Aerodynamic Design 460cc driver head, this driver can hit it far.

Plus, with an all Titanium Alloy Construction this driver is both durable and lightweight. Like some of the other drivers on this list, the Command W7X has a large face to instill confidence at address. Pinemeadow also engineered this larger face to have an Enlarged Sweet Spot for more forgiveness.

Of course, what draws most people to this particular driver is the one-of-a-kind camo paint job. Upon close inspection, the camo looks to be similar to Mossy Oak brand camo and applied using hydro dipping which gives a lifelike look to the leaves and branches. Just make sure not to accidentally lose this one in the woods while looking for a lost ball.

Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Good Value
  • Cool Camo Paint

Cons

  • None

While the paint job might be the eye-catcher, Pinemeadow really does come through with the performance of Command WX7.

Combining a lightweight shaft with a large driver head is the recipe King Par uses with its Tech Plus Driver.

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • High MOI Technology
  • Extreme Distance III Shaft

King par certainly is a small name in golf. But its Tech Plus driver makes a splash as one of the best low-cost drivers on the market. At just $38 this driver can be had by anyone who wants to get into golf.

The Tech Plus uses an Aerodynamic Design that focuses on a large face and a slimmed-down body. This creates a confidence-boosting look at address and also attributes to the drivers High MOI Technology. With this technology, the Tech Plus is able to launch the golf ball higher and with more energy.

King Par also includes an Extreme Distance III Shaft. This particular shaft is super lightweight and comes with a men’s regular flex. One thing golfers need to be careful about with the Tech Plus is the possible denting that can occur to the clubhead’s body.

Pros

  • Solid Distance
  • Good Forgiveness
  • Great Value

Cons

  • Can Dent

King Par does such a good job with the Tech Plus that it is almost impossible to find a better price to performance driver.

9. Intech Illegal Behemoth 520

Features

  • NON-CONFORMING 520CC - ILLEGAL size exceeds the maximum size allowed by the USGA
  • SUPERSIZED, HIGH MOI DESIGN - Offers a large sweet spot for maximum forgiveness
  • INTECH BEHEMOTH SHAFT - Matching lightweight graphite shaft
  • HEADCOVER INCLUDED

Intech competition illegal is the best product in this article for max distance.

Key Features

  • Aerodynamic Design
  • Titanium & Steel Design
  • Lightweight Graphite Shaft

In today’s day and age of high-priced drivers, it’s hard to imagine that there is a driver on the market for just $49.99. Intech has somehow done the impossible with the behemoth. Of course, there are a bunch of tradeoffs with a golf driver at this low of a price point.

First for the positives. It has a very Aerodynamic Design that provides for good swing speeds and acceptable distance. Plus, with a Titanium and Steel design, it’s very durable and will last for many golf seasons. Intech even includes a nice Lightweight Graphite Shaft with a medium flex.

Now it’s time to take a look at the negatives. Despite being a very durable driver, denting on the sole can be a huge problem with it. And because of the mixed construction materials, the behemoth has some issues with the feel at impact. But at just $49.99, these are not huge problems to worry about.

Pros

  • HUGE Distance
  • Durable
  • Low Cost

Cons

  • Can Dent
  • Not Great Feel

If you are in a cash crunch and really need a driver, you can’t get one better bang for buck than this one.

Features

  • Offset anti-slice Technology
  • 460Cc clubhead
  • Headcover included ; The matte black finish and white and green gives the driver a clean and sleek look.
  • Club 1
  • The offset of the driver helps you square the ball at impact. Having a square face at impact is important and will result in straighter drivers.

Fix that annoying slice instantly with the PGX Offset Driver!

Key Features

  • Anit-Slice Design
  • Titanium & Steel Design
  • Massive Sweet Spot

Slicing the golf ball off the tee gets annoying really quick. But PGX has you covered with its innovative Offset Driver that offers a unique Anti-Slice Design. This driver has also been featured as a top driver in our review of the best drivers to stop a slice.

The shape and construction of the driver are quite standard, with a Titanium and Steel Design. To make the magic happen, PGX then offsets the driver head significantly to induce a draw. So each time you tee it up, the offset head will keep the clubface closed at impact for a much straighter drive.

Despite all these positives, there is one huge drawback – massive hooks on non-sliced drives. If you make correct contact without a slice the Offset Driver will cause the ball to snap hook. This means that this club will actually “hurt” you for trying to correctly fix a slice.

Pros

  • Fixes Slices
  • Durable
  • Good Distance

Cons

  • Can Cause Massive Hooks

If you just can’t shake that slice, then the PGX Offset Driver just might be the driver for you.

  • Premium Black Velvet Grip
  • Premium Lightweight Graphite Shaft - Senior Lite Flex
  • Men's Standard Length (Includes Headcover)

Hit it farther and straighter than ever before with the oversized High Launch driver from Money Club.

Key Features

  • Huge 520cc Driver Head
  • Beta Titanium Face
  • Massive Sweet Spot

Ok to start this review we have to be upfront; the Money Club High Launch driver does not conform to USGA rules. This makes this driver illegal for use in any golf tournament, league, or event. But if you just want to have some fun on a regular golf outing then this driver is perfect.

So what gives the Money Club high Launch Driver its unbelievable distance and forgiveness? First is its 520cc Driver Head which is 60cc larger than the legal limit. The second ingredient is the Beta Titanium Face which has a flex and speed limit that is much higher than traditional driver faces. Again both of these technologies surpass the rules set by the USGA.

Sadly unless you’re a senior golfer, the High Launch driver won’t work that well for you. Not only is the driver head made for seniors, but the included shaft also has a flex and kick point optimized for senior golfers.

Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Lightweight For Senior Golfers
  • Amazing Forgiveness

Cons

  • Illegal for use in Tournaments or Events

As long as you are not interested in playing and official events, the Money Club High Launch Driver can really bring your game to an all-new level.

  • MATTE BLACK FINISH: Clean and sharp matte black finish is easy on the eyes when addressing and hitting the ball
  • HEADCOVER INCLUDED: Driver comes with headcover to protect the club when not in use

Fire every drive right down the middle of the fairway with the Pinemeadow PGX 500cc driver.

Key Features

  • Huge 500cc Driver Head
  • Steel & Titanium Construction
  • Massive Sweet Spot

Just like the Money Club High Launch Driver, the Pinemeadow PGX 500cc driver is considered non-conforming by the USGA. So as long as you just want to use it for fun you should have no issues. Just don’t try to use it in a tournament.

Pinemeadow settles on using a moderately oversized 500cc Driver Head for maximum forgiveness and distance. This makes the driver head a bit easier to swing compared to the Money Club High Launch driver. To maximize distance and durability, Pinemeadow made the PGX 500cc with a mixed Steel & Titanium construction.

Of course with such a large driver face, its no wonder that the PGX 500cc has a Massive Sweet Spot. So no matter where the ball is on the face at impact you will have a crisp feel and great distance. The overall styling of the PGX 500cc is better than many other budget drivers on this list.

Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Lots of Forgiveness
  • Clean Look

Cons

  • Illegal for use in Tournaments or Events

Out of all the oversized non conforming drivers, the Pinemeadow PGX 500cc might just be the best.

Bottom Line

You’ve made it to the end of our review guide of the twelve best drivers under $100! Hopefully, this guide has shown you all the different options you have when trying to find a driver on a budget. Of course, you really do need to temper your expectations when looking at any golf driver that is under $100. Here are some of the compromises you will need to make.

First is the lack of features compared to higher-end drivers. No proprietary technology or moveable weights, just a simple driver head with tried and true technology. Another compromise you will have to make is on build quality. Many of these low-cost drivers will have easy to chip paint and possible denting issues. Also, there are almost no customization options with these types of drivers.

Overall though, as long as you understand the potential issues and are willing to compromise these budget drivers can be serviceable. Again, we hope that this guide has helped you find your new favorite driver.
