Features

  • Fast ball speeds & low spin off the driver
  • Distance & control through the bag
  • Pinpoint greenside control
  • Ultra soft feel
  • Forgiveness

Meet the new king of the entire Callaway golf ball lineup – the Callaway Chrome Soft.

Key Features

  • 4 Piece Construction
  • Urethane Cover
  • Ultra Soft

Before the Chrome Soft, Callaway’s best performing tour balls were the (i) series of golf balls. The (i) series were fantastic golf balls that performed well with the only drawback being a thin cover that tended to scrape and scratch easily. With the all-new Chrome Soft, Callaway took many of the things that made the (i) series great and improved on some of the other problematic features.

The Chrome Soft itself is made up of 4 separate pieces. First, is a two-piece SoftFast Core that gives the ball a super soft feel yet incredible distance. Second, are the two layers that make up the cover and inside layer. The cover is made of Urethane for enhanced feel and a graphite material is also used in conjunction with the Urethane layer to create lots of greenside spin.

Similarly to the Titleist ProV1 and ProV1X, the Callaway Chrome Soft also comes in a higher flying and longer variety called the Chrome Soft X. Several colors and designs give golfers a high visibility option.

✅ Pros

  • Outstanding Feel
  • High Greenside Spin
  • Great Forgiveness

🚫 Cons

  • Expensive

Play the Callaway Chrome Soft and experience only the best that a golf ball can offer.

Features

  • ERC soft is our longest callaway golf ball with soft feel
  • The multi material hybrid cover creates an exceptional combination of faster ball speeds, incredibly soft feel, and noticeably higher spin for excellent control
  • A graphene infused dual soft fast core maximizes compression energy while minimizing driver spin and promoting high launch for long distance
  • New triple track technology helps to improve alignment compared to a regular side stamp alignment aid

Add Callaway’s longest soft feeling ball to your bag and start feeling and seeing the difference!

Key Features

  • 4 Piece Construction
  • Hybrid Cover
  • Triple Track Alignment

Super long distance and tour style softness normally do not go together, but Callaway’s ERC Soft can do both. But how is Callaway able to do this? Well, it all starts with a four-piece construction that includes a dual-core and dual cover.

The Dual Core is similar to the Chrome Soft but has a different mixture to help store and release energy for more distance. One of the new materials that can be found in the core of the ERC Soft is Graphene. Another interior layer helps produce spin on short iron shots and wedges.

Interestingly, Callaway has changed up the cover on the ERC Soft and went with a hybrid cover that uses multiple materials to create a soft feel and excellent spin. Golfers should not notice much of a difference between the new hybrid cover and traditional Urethane. Another feature of the cover is a triple track alignment aid to help golfers lineup and sink more putts.

✅ Pros

  • Super Long
  • Extra Soft
  • Easy To Putt

🚫 Cons

  • Expensive

Play the all-new Callaway ERC Soft and get some of the longest distance possible with a soft feel.

Features

  • Callaway HEX Tour Soft 24 Golf Balls

The crown jewel of Callaway’s newest golf ball lineup called Hex is the top-performing Tour Soft.

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • Spin Separation
  • Surlyn Cover

Engineered with a three-piece construction, the Callaway Hex Tour Soft has been made to perform well for amateur golfers. A large single core is the secret to incredible distance and ball speed. A core this large would normally be found on a two-piece golf ball, but Callaway makes it work in the 3 piece construction.

Maybe the greatest thing about the Hex Tour Soft is the spin separation. What this means is that little to no spin will be noticed on the driver and long irons, but significant amounts of spin can be found on wedge and short iron shots. A perfect ball for golfers who have trouble with a slice off the tee.

Shots into receptive greens should quickly check up and stop thanks to a Surlyn Cover. This style of cover also helps increase the overall durability of the Hex Tour Soft. So less scratching from cart paths or trees should keep your ball in play longer.

✅ Pros

  • Super Straight
  • Extra Soft
  • Durable

🚫 Cons

  • Expensive

Every golfer should take advantage of the soft feel and super straight flight that the Callaway Hex Tour Soft has to offer.

Take control of each shot with the all-new Callaway Hex Control golf ball!

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • Hex Aerodynamics
  • Trionomer Cover

It seems that the Hex lineup really does have a golf ball to help fix just about any problem. And just like many other Callaway Hex Control reviews state, the Hex Control helps you hit more precise shots. To accomplish this pinpoint accuracy, the Hex Control uses a couple different features.

First up is the Core. With a compression rating of around 100, the core feels soft yet tactile. This allows golfers to feel the ball better on the clubface allowing for more workability. The second part of the equation is the Trionomer cover. While it is not a Urethane Cover it still generates great amounts of spin for greenside shots.

The final detail that often gets overlooked is Hex Dimple Aerodynamics. All of Callay’s Hex golf balls have this style of dimples, but the Hex Controls dimples are in a pattern that promotes a piercing ball flight for better workability and wind resistance.

✅ Pros

  • Outstanding Control
  • Straight Flight
  • Good Greenside Spin

🚫 Cons

  • Expensive

Increase the number of fairways hit, greens in regulation with pinpoint control of the Callaway Hex Control.

  • Built for low spin that leads to a straight ball flight.
  • The Package Weight Of The Product Is 1.6 Pounds.

This ball has it all! Read on to learn more from our Callaway Hex Soft review below!

Key Features

  • 2 Piece Construction
  • Super Low Compression
  • Ionomer Cover

A super-soft feeling golf ball is something that almost every golfer enjoys. Now you can get a super soft ball with excellent forgiveness and distance thanks to the Callaway Hex Soft. Made with two-piece construction, it is perfect for mid to high handicap golfers.

All the soft feel of the Hex Soft is generated in the super low compression core. While no actual compression rating is given it is assumed to be quite low and probably around somewhere between 50 and 60. So if you have a slower swing speed, the Hex Soft could be the ball for you!

Spin rates around greens are a little lower than some other higher-end options. One reason for this is that the Ionomer cover has more durability and less grip than a comparable Urethane cover.

✅ Pros

  • Super Soft Feel
  • Excellent Forgiveness
  • Impressive Distance
  • Great Value

🚫 Cons

  • None

Blast shots from the tee and fairway farther and with better feel than you could ever imagine with the Callaway Hex Soft.

While it might be an older model, the Callaway Diablo Tour is still a fan favorite that can contend with even the highest-performing golf balls.

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • Power Core Design
  • Hex Aerodynamics

With Callaway’s rebranding, the Diablo Tour was discontinued and replaced with the Hex Diablo (covered later in the guide). During the time of production, the Diablo Tour was a very popular golf ball due to its great feel and excellent performance. The key to its performance and feel was the special 3 piece construction.

The Diablo Tour uses a different core referred to by Callaway as a Power Core. This style of core has a super soft center that progressively gets harder near the edges. Thanks to the Power Core, golfers will experience increased distance through lower spin on drives and long irons.

Hex Aerodynamics make up the geometry of the dimples on the cover of the Diablo Tour. Specifically, the Hex dimples allow for a more penetrating ball flight that has less drag than similar 3 piece golf balls. The dimple design also increases spin on wedge and short iron shots.

✅ Pros

  • Good Greenside Spin
  • Overall Great Feel
  • Very Workable

🚫 Cons

  • None

Callaway Diablo Tour golf balls are still an outstanding choice for golfers looking to get a premium performance golf ball at a great price.

If you are a lady and are tired of playing inferior women’s golf balls, it’s time to switch to the Callaway Diablo Lady.

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • Power Core Design
  • Stroke Saving Spin

Many ladies golf balls are just simply 2 piece golf balls with lower compressions marketed to female golfers. Callaway decided to give women the choice of a better golf ball with the Diablo Lady. Instead of the usual 2 piece construction, the Diablo Lady features a 3 piece construction similar to the Diablo Tour.

Callaway kept the core of the ball similar to the original Diablo Tour but changed the compression to make it more in line with women’s swing speeds. This compression change also makes the Diablo Lady feel soft with a light touch.

As for the cover, the Diablo Lady features an Ionomer cover that is covered in Hex shaped dimples. This cover and dimple design cuts down unwanted spin from drives but allows for spin around the greens. The Diablo Lady is really the best performing golf ball targeted towards women.

✅ Pros

  • Light Feel
  • Straight Flight
  • Great Distance

🚫 Cons

  • None

Add the Callaway Diablo Lady to your bag and start getting the performance that you were always meant to have.

Features

  • Hex Aerodynamics is designed to deliver lift at low speeds for distance while maintaining a penetrating ball flight to hold its line in the wind
  • The S-Tech Core is built to reduce sidespin for more accuracy and it has a low compression for soft feel off the clubface.
  • Duraspin outer layer improves trajectory and helps with a straighter shot
  • 2-piece construction
  • Unique design of the thin lonomer covering produces low spin from opening drives

Meet the all-new Callaway Hex Diablo, the ball that takes the performance from the original Callaway Diablo and improves upon it.

Key Features

  • 2 Piece Construction
  • S-Tech Core
  • Trionomer Cover

Despite the Hex Diablo taking much of its performance and styling from the original Diablo golf ball, there are some changes. The most noticeable is that the Hex Diablo is now a 2 piece golf ball rather than a 3 piece. This change was made to make the golf ball a little more economical and more appealing to higher handicap golfers.

A big part of why the Hex Diablo is still such a good ball is due to the all-new S-Tech Core. With this core, the Hex Diablo can better absorb energy at impact and resist sidespin as the ball flies towards your target. One downside to the S-Tech core is that is slightly harder than some other golf balls in Callaway’s lineup.

Some softness and spin are present thanks to a special Trionomer cover that also comes with Hex Aerodynamics. And just like the original Diablo, the Hex Diablo has a very piercing flight path that is quite helpful for amateur golfers.

✅ Pros

  • Lower Driver Spin
  • Super Long
  • Great For High Handicappers
  • Great Value

🚫 Cons

  • None

Grab a box of the all-new Callaway Hex Diabo golf balls and enjoy the low spin and super long distance from the tee.

Features

  • The Callaway super soft is a long, straight distance ball that’s incredibly soft
  • An ultra low compression core promotes fast ball speed and increased accuracy
  • New Low Drag HEX Aerodynamics are optimized to reduce drag and enhance lift for longer carry and longer distance
  • A new softer Trigonometry cover formulation has a low compression for enhanced feel and increased greenside control

Sometimes golf ball names can be a little confusing, but with Callaway’s, all new redesigned SuperSoft golf ball, the name says it all.

Key Features

  • 2 Piece Construction
  • Ultra-Low Compression Core
  • Trionomer Cover

Soft golf balls usually tread a fine line between too much softness and not enough distance. Somehow Callaway figured out a way to have a super soft feeling 2 piece golf ball that also has excellent distance. Much of the SuperSoft’s feel and flight characteristics come from a special Ultra-Low Compression Core.

And while the compression is super low, the core is also able to achieve high initial ball speeds that allow it to fly longer than a comparable low compression ball. Like Callaway’s other 2 piece golf balls, the SuperSoft features a Trionomer cover.

One nice thing about the SuperSoft is that the Hex dimples are arranged in a way that promotes a higher ball flight with less drag. This also helps in the distance department and can really help golfers that may have trouble getting the ball in the air.

✅ Pros

  • Unbelievably Soft
  • Great Forgiveness
  • Outstanding Carry
  • Great Value

  • None

Stop trading distance for feel and start hitting the all-new redesigned Callaway Supersoft!

Features

  • Callaway's Legendary Hex aerodynamics promotes higher flight and longer carry for increased distance
  • Callaway's proprietary core chemistry achieves the improbable by combining distance-enhancing high-impact energy with great feel
  • A new cover composition limits spin off the long clubs to promote long distance while reducing hooks and slices, yet still provides excellent spin, feel and control on shorter shots

If you are a mid handicapper that wants to supercharge your golf game, then take a look at the Callaway Superhot!

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • 70 Compression Core
  • Trionomer Cover

In the long list of Callaway golf balls, the Superhot tends to get lost in the competition. And while it may be easy to overlook the Superhot, its targeted performance is what makes it so good. Specifically made for mid handicappers, the Superhot blends a 3 piece construction with a 2 piece feel.

The core compression comes in at 70 which is perfect for golfers that have a swing speed around 90mph. The core also gives the ball a distinct softness that isn’t over-pronounced. Distance is very good especially off the tee thanks to a lower spinning inner cover.

Just like all the other new Callaway golf balls, the Superhot comes with Hex Dimples. In the Superhot’s case, the dimples come in a pattern that promotes a lower flight that resists spin better than some other 3 piece golf balls.

✅ Pros

  • Good Distance
  • Low Driver Spin
  • Decent Forgiveness

🚫 Cons

  • None

Distance, accuracy, and feel all come together to create the new Callaway Superhot golf ball.

Prepare to take your game to the next level with the precision control and green grabbing performance of the Callaway Hex Bite.

Key Features

  • 3 Piece Construction
  • Powerful Core
  • Trionomer Cover

Let’s be honest, everyone loves a golf ball that can just check up on any shot into a green. Sadly, not every golf ball is able to do just that but Callaway came up with a solution; the Callaway Hex Bite. Engineered with a 3 piece core, the Hex Bite will perform similar to a tour style golf ball.

One important aspect of a golf ball is its distance capabilities, and the Hex Bite has a large core that is designed all-around distance and control. This means that tee shots will fly far and with less spin than a traditional tour style ball. Perfect for those golfers who would like to hit more fairways.

Made with a special Trionomer cover, the Hex Bite will grab greens allowing for some serious pin hunting. Another big plus for the ball is that it has a nice soft yet tactile feel to it on short shots.

✅ Pros

  • Good Distance
  • Great Control
  • Nice Greenside Spin
  • Great Value

🚫 Cons

  • None

Hold more greens and hit more aggressive short shots with the all-new Callaway Hex Bite.

Features

  • Callaway's renowned HEX Aerodynamics reduce drag and promote high launch for increased speed, hang-time and distance
  • The extra-large high-energy core is highly compressible to unlock more potential distance at any swing speed
  • Thin, high-sensory ionomer cover works with the core to promote super-satisfying feel off every club
  • The package weight of the product is 9.1 pounds

Another older Callaway golf ball that has gotten a redesign, the Warbird keeps many of the same features that golfers have come to love.

Key Features

  • 2 Piece Construction
  • Powerful Core
  • Trionomer Cover

Every golf ball manufacturer has a super-economical 2 piece ball that is all about distance. For Callaway that ball is the Warbird. It features a huge core that traps and releases as much energy as possible to fly further.

One downside to the Warbird’s large distance hungry core is that it is a little on the hard side. So golfers will feel the Warbird on the face of their clubs much more easily than a softer golf ball. This isn’t a huge issue but maybe something that golfers who play a softer ball, especially a Callaway tour golf ball, should be aware of.

Greenside spin is adequate thanks to a Trionomer cover. The cover also does a great job at increasing carry distance through low overall drag. At just under $17 per dozen, the Warbird is a true value ball.

✅ Pros

  • Great Distance
  • Piercing Flight
  • Economical

🚫 Cons

  • A Little Hard

For golfers on a budget, there are few balls better than the Callaway Warbird.

Bottom Line

It really has become a fight for the top spot among golf ball manufacturers, and Callaway may be the new king. Overall innovation and redesign along its entire product line is the largest driving force in Callaway’s rise to the top. And Callaway isn’t just focused on the tour style golf balls, but also amateur and women. So almost any golfer can make the switch.

For some people switching golf balls isn’t easy. After years of play, you can find a ball that you really love and fits your game. But with enhanced feel and improved distance, every golfer should give a Callaway ball a try.

So if you play a ProV1 or TP5, give a Callaway Chrome Soft or ERC a go. Golfers that regularly play a two-piece might want to take a look at Callaway’s two-piece balls especially the Hex Control. There really are Callaway golf balls for anyone so you should have no problem finding the right one for your game.
